Undergraduate students who will have completed at least the sophomore year by May 2008 and intend to pursue graduate education leading to the Ph.D. degree are encouraged to apply for undergraduate research openings in the Department of Molecular Genetics & Microbiology. For students who are within commuting distance of the campus during the summer months, opportunities exist for summer research internships wherein student work closely with faculty, postdoctoral fellows and/or advanced graduate students on independent research projects. The research is conducted over a six week period. Upon satisfactory completion of the program, students receive a financial stipend and certification of participation signed by the Graduate Program Director.
